QT Hotels & Resorts’ Wine Wins Globally

Design-led hotel collection, QT Hotels & Resorts, has proven it has the gift of the glass. QT’s  signature restaurants and bars have been recognised with the ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ in the 2022 Restaurant Awards by the world’s leading authority on wine, Wine Spectator.

QT Wellington’s Hippopotamus, QT Sydney’s Gowings and QT Perth’s Santini Bar & Grill have all received the coveted Wine Spectator ‘Best of Award of Excellence’. This award is reserved for those who offer thoughtfully chosen wine lists, containing both quality and diverse selections that are compatible with the menu’s style and pricing.

Loved for its unique range of wines from New Zealand and France, French fine dining restaurant Hippopotamus celebrates its prestigious wine programme for the fourth year running and is one of only three restaurants in New Zealand to be a recipient in their category. QT Sydney’s New York steakhouse with Italian flair, and QT Perth’s Sorrento-inspired Santini Bar & Grill, are one of seven and one of two restaurants, respectively, in their states to be recognised in this year’s awards with both venues celebrate as first time winners, and two of 18 restaurants in Australia. Hippopotamus, Gowings and Santini Bar & Grill amongst 1920 establishments globally to receive the ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ by the highly regarded awards program.

Designer interiors and truly unique dining experiences, QT Hotels & Resorts continue to pop the cork in celebrating their award-winning dining destinations, with this global recognition honouring their wine collection, outstanding service and the team telling the story behind every drop.

With a vast array of wines from top producers, wide breadth of regions and rare back vintages, half bottles, and precious pours not available elsewhere, QT boast a reputation of welcome wine lists for everyone. QT has a commitment to supporting local winemakers first, ranging from the hyper-local to those further afield, featuring selections from around the globe, spanning Italy, Spain, North and South America to South Africa.

Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards are assigned on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award, with 1,782; 1,290; and 97 winners this year in each respective category. This year’s awards program recognizes 3,169 dining destinations from all 50 states in the U.S. and more than 70 countries internationally. All winners of the 2022 Restaurant Awards have been published at www.winespectator.com.
