The holidays are a time to make merry and make enormous meals for the family. But if the idea of the fast approaching holiday season is causing more heart palpitations than heart-warming feelings, the newly launched Christmas by QT at Home meal kit is here to help.
Artfully curated by a team of QT Hotels and Resorts’ best chefs from Australia’s finest and award-winning restaurants – including Santini Grill, Yamagen Japanese, Capitol Bar & Grill and Gowings Bar & Grill– QT’s first-ever holiday box for home cooks delivers a slice of QT at home, with a smack of Christmas indulgence.
Culinary magicians are not required. The easy to follow meal kits have been expertly crafted for simple assembly and include helpful and quirky instructions for cooking. You won’t find any directions to place your meals neatly in the oven here; Christmas by QT at Home encourages home chefs to cook with a flourish and a generous pinch of holiday fanfare.
As an added garnish to the dining experience, each dish has been artfully paired with a Christmas song to deliver a unique sensory amuse bouche as you cook, eat and digest your Christmas meal.
Hype-up songs such as Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You and Chuck Berry’s Run Run Rudolph were chosen by Spotify connoisseur and Digital Wax content creator Andrew Lewis to pre-heat home-chefs with the Christmas spirit. The playlist builds to a crescendo with hits like Nat King Cole’s Christmas Song, best savoured slowly with honey and mustard leg ham to bring out the meal’s rich flavours and aid digestion. The sultry and sensual sounds of Eartha Kitt’s Santa Baby; to tickle the tastebuds while indulging in QT’s equally delicious and decadent Gowings cheesecake. And We Wish You A Merry Christmas; best enjoyed while singing along between mouthfuls of Sonoma’s Christmas pudding with brandy custard.
Other knock out dishes include crispy duck fat potatoes, melt in your mouth pavlova with vanilla cream, blueberry, mango and almonds, Sydney rock oysters, tiger prawns with Cognac, horseradish Marie Rose sauce and Australian made burrata.
If diners overindulge in Christmas pudding, a food coma recovery guide is included in every box with helpful instructions on how to aid digestion. Circular tummy rubs in an anticlockwise direction and afternoon siestas facing westward, are fervently encouraged.
Christmas by QT at Home caters for four people and includes 15 dishes with options to add additional menu items such as market lobster, extra desserts and beverages. Price per Christmas box is $590. Available for pick-up from the Gold Coast, Sydney, Perth and Canberra. Orders must be made before December 17, 2020. Pick-up is available December 23 and December 24.

If tucker from QT’s kitchens has the tastebuds primed, pre-batched cocktails and wine fresh from the QT Cellar will soon be available.
