Designer hotel QT Sydney took home the award for ‘Best Boutique Hotel’ last night at the annual Australian Traveller 2016 People’s Choice Awards; a snapshot of the absolute best travel experiences found in our own backyard.
Held last night at The Calyx in Sydney’s picturesque Royal Botanic Gardens, the awards celebrate the reader’s choice and, this year, Australian Traveller saw a staggering 6,400 people vote for their greatest Australian holiday experiences, including everything from Australia’s best cities and restaurants to visit, to dream destinations, hotels and more.
Australian Traveller covers the entire range of travel experiences available in the country – from luxury to small-town hospitality, so this was a great accolade for QT; a brand recognised for its distinctive sense of quirk, fun and unique design philosophy.
“We’re thrilled to receive the people’s choice award, especially at such a recognised and well-respected industry event,” said David Seargeant. “We strive to ensure the highest levels of service and the most memorable experience through cutting-edge design, art, music and food, and to have this officially acknowledged means a great deal for the QT team.”
QT Hotels & Resorts first put its stamp on the Australian tourism sector with the launch of QT Gold Coast in 2011. The unique and exciting property delivered the first injection of QT’s signature designer spaces with bold entertainment and intriguing yet relaxing guest experience. Now one of Australia’s most loved and dynamic hotel brands, the family of properties include QT Gold Coast, QT Port Douglas, the flagships of QT Melbourne and QT Sydney, QT Falls Creek, QT Canberra and the newly opened QT Bondi.
Adding to its portfolio of stunning boutique hotels and resorts, QT is set for expansion with new properties to open in the next year, including QT Museum Wellington and QT Queenstown in New Zealand – marking QT’s first international properties, with plans for QT Perth and QT Parramatta currently underway.
