Truffles are elevating dishes at Esther this winter.
One of the most luxurious ingredients in the world, the fabled truffle, will be a welcome addition across the menus at QT Auckland’s award-winning restaurant, Esther.
This winter, Culinary Food & Beverage Director Sean Connolly, reinvigorates nostalgic dishes from his repertoire, incorporating the decadent truffle.
Throughout June and July, à la carte menus will be given a truffle upgrade across breakfast, lunch and dinner, while truffle-infused cocktails are available for a new take. When it comes to truffles, Connolly sees them as an honest luxury, “Think of this menu as my best-of album; these dishes would be my top ten. They come with a lot of authenticity and a lot of thought. They’re about tradition, enhancing the flavour profile of truffles and elevating the flavours of food.”
Esther’s truffles are all sourced from New Zealand; Tewnion Truffière by Wayne and Alison Tewnion in Canterbury, and Black Truffle from Riwaka. Truffle lovers can try the country’s delacacies by booking the following:
