Posted on: 14 August 2023

QT Hotels & Resorts are excited to announce the appointment of Jodi Brown as General Manager of QT Wellington and Museum Apartment Hotel. With over 14 years of experience in the luxury hotel and hospitality industry, Brown brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and award-winning leadership to her new appointment.

Beginning her career with EVT, Brown has had a diverse and successful career in hotels and hospitality. Notably, she became General Manager of Atura Hotel Albury, where she led the property through a 12-month full refurbishment and rebrand. Her exceptional leadership skills and passion for true luxury in the hospitality and tourism industry were evident throughout this process. Jodi served as the General Manager of QT Sydney, and has held leadership positions at Eos by SkyCity Adelaide, as well as SkyCity Hospitality, overseeing conference and events and signature restaurants such as Adelaide’s iconic, Sol Rooftop.

Throughout her career, Brown has been recognised with numerous awards for her outstanding contributions to the industry. Most recently, she was awarded ‘Australian General Manager of the Year’ at the 2022 HM Awards.

Simon White, General Manager Operations New Zealand – EVT Hotels & Resorts, expressed his excitement about Jodi’s appointment, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Jodi as the new General Manager of QT Wellington and Museum Apartments. With her bold, collaborative, and supportive leadership style, extensive experience, and passion for luxury hospitality, we are confident that Jodi will lead the team to new heights and deliver exceptional experiences for our guests.”

Originally from Canberra, Australia, this will be her first time working in New Zealand, and she is thrilled to be joining the vibrant and creative city of Wellington. Brown shared her enthusiasm for her new role, saying, “I am thrilled to join the QT Wellington team, and I’m excited to be back working with QT. It’s such a vibrant and playful brand. My aim is to continue to grow and establish QT Wellington as the ultimate destination for travelers.”

Brown will take QT Wellington to the next chapter, redefining the food and beverage experience at the hotel and aims to further enhance the overall guest experience.

“People are the heart of everything we do, from providing a high level of service as part of the guest experience, to building a high-performing team. We plan on reinvigorating creative changes in our food and beverage offerings and will continue to look for new ways to provide exciting experiences for our guests,” said Brown. Alongside QT Wellington, Brown will take on the role of General Manager of the Museum Apartment Hotel. The 97-room property adjoins QT Wellington, offering apartment-style accommodation. The EVT-owned Museum Apartment Hotel is part of the brand’s Independent Collection of hotels, offering guests shared access to all QT Wellington’s facilities including indoor pool, spa, gym, conferencing and dining options.

Located on the doorstep of Wellington’s entertainment district, QT Wellington is a design-led boutique hotel, and features one of New Zealand’s largest private art collections. The 81-room hotel is an invitation for guests to explore the hotel and their artistic intrigue. Level four harbours Gallery 4 rooms, each featuring unique and bespoke touches by New Zealand artists. Guests can also indulge in award-winning dining experiences at upscale, French-inspired signature restaurant, Hippopotamus, and eclectic Asian fusion bar and eatery, Hot Sauce. QT Wellington offers guests a quirky, five-star enclave in Aotearoa’s creative capital.
