Wellington on a Plate
Oh the anticipation! The high point on Wellington’s culinary calendar is almost here, and QT will make it worth the wait. We’ve gone all in with a pop-up plant-based bounty at Hippopotamus, plus a double-the-fun burger and DIY cocktail at Hot Sauce. We invite you to pull up a chair and join us as we celebrate common ground.
Hippopotamus – The Giving Tree Plant-Based High Tea
At Hippopotamus, we set out to prove that plant-based eating can be as sumptuous and scrumptious as it is sensible. Hippo High Tea is back, with a plant-based twist on our time-honoured three tiers of temptation.
Based on the book, The Giving Tree, this shared feast encapsulates the story of nature endlessly giving its fruit to us selflessly. All our sweets and savouries showcase the best natural and plant-based ingredients humans have enjoyed from Mother Nature since the dawn of time.

Hot Sauce – Cocktail Wellington
Ting Tong Bucket & Mango Sticky Rice Balls
‘Ting tong’ may mean ‘crazy’ in Thai, but there’s a method to the madness. This build-your-own cocktail is reminiscent of Thailand’s famous Full Moon parties – but with luxe, local liquids, this bucket is not the same you experienced many moons ago.
Martinborough’s Lighthouse Gin* takes pride of place amongst other premium spirits. Then go stir crazy with mixers such as Pete’s Natural Tonics to put you over the moon. Suitable for sharing or to be enjoyed by one.
*For free spirits, a non-alcoholic version is available using Seedlip.
Paired with Mango Sticky Rice Balls
Thailand’s favourite dessert turned into a tapas bite. Savour the iconic flavours – Mango, Sticky Rice, White Chocolate and Coconut – matched perfectly to the Ting Tong bucket to transport you to a Thai island far, far away.
$26 for cocktail and dessert pairing
