QT Bondi announces key roles of General Manager and Head Concierge

Posted on: 12 February 2016

QT Bondi – the latest offering from the innovative and hip designer hotel group, QT Hotels & Resort – has announced the key roles of General Manager and Head Concierge for its new beachside property of 69 luxury guest-suites set to open in the iconic beachside precinct this Xmas 2015.

Penny Crossley takes up the role of General Manger (GM), this follows over a two year tenure with QT Hotels & Resorts as Front Office Manager of QT Sydney. Alongside the QT Sydney team, the property rose to a ranking of #7 out of all Sydney accommodation offerings and #2 among traditional 5 star properties on TripAdvisor making it one of the strongest performers in the competitive Sydney CBD market.

Prior to this Crossley comes from a background in restaurants, training, sales and travel, with her last appointment being with that of TFE Hotels.

“From both a QT perspective and from a locational perspective, this hotel is incredibly exciting. I’m passionate about the unique brand that is QT and the location which I unashamedly believe is Australia’s most iconic beach-side community”, says Crossley.

“QT has recruited a fantastic, youthful and energetic team, all of whom have strong backgrounds in luxury hotels and five star service; a team that is ready to ensure QT guests enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience which form lasting memories of both QT and the Bondi community during their stay”,  David Seargeant, Group Managing Director AHL .

Reflecting the QT brand philosophy of creating a genuinely immersive experience in the location of each and every property, QT Bondi will offer guests a tantalising array across a myriad of activities, from local food & bar destinations, through to shopping journeys including local markets and wares by artesian craftspeople, to high street fashion and beyond. Also, sport & leisure, from coastal walks and surf lessons, to sunrise yoga or sunset strolls capped by cocktails.

Over the past 6 months the QT Bondi team have researched and personally engaged with a mix of the best local retailers and service suppliers, forging a range of exclusive partnerships.

“We want to ensure guests have access to all the pleasures of Bondi’s unique lifestyle, without any of the inconvenience one might expect navigating the city’s most popular beachside locale,” said Crossley…

Further ensuring this seamless experience will be Head Concierge, Alex Robertson, who joins the QT team with extensive experience throughout the Sydney hospitality sector, most recently with the Accor Hotel group as a Conference & Events Coordinator and prior to that, Concierge.

“I see local businesses as very much the key to our guests experience, and I’ve been fortunate to become well versed with what’s on offer in the one and only community that is Bondi, having lived and loved this iconic location for several recent years”, says Robertson.

Extending the QT brand philosophy, Robertson has been refining her knowledge and contact base so that all guest requests, no matter how obscure, can be met with confidence.

“The beauty of the QT brand is that there is so much freedom to express yourself and appreciate life outside the square…where being a little bit quirky is celebrated. Who says 5 star hotel living should simply follow the straight and narrow?” adds Robertson.

QT Bondi is currently in the final stages of development, with Crossley and her management team, including Robertson, taking up residence in the hotel next week. The first guests are expected to check in just before Christmas 2015.
