The big questions first; Do you have any idea what you’re going to wear or at the very least, where you’re going to be and where you’re going to be after the big race?
Not to worry. All these questions are easily answered, so easy that we’ve have taken the time to help you out with everything you need to know this Melbourne Cup Day.
Wear
Ladies: With Jen Hawkins as Myer’s Spring Racing Ambassador, your best bet is to scroll her gram and pick and choose what tickles your taste. Pastels are still in because… well because it’s 2017. Also, boaters are back this year with some sweet designs for the track.
Lads: Can M.J Bale do no wrong? No. Lads, go casual. Keep it cool. Keep your cool.
Where
QT Melbourne is 26 minutes in good traffic from the front door. Keep in mind there will be over 100,000 people, in various shades intoxication, avoid the roads and let us sort you out with a helicopter to and from the track? If you want to forgo the crowds and vertigo, we welcome you to enjoy you the race that stops the nation at any of the bars at QT Melbourne.
After
As you sit there, counting your winnings and contemplating buying into Gai Waterhouse’s next pony, you’ll be in need of a stiff drink to cap off the big day.
There would be nowhere more fitting than spending this time on the top of QT Melbourne, at the Rooftop at QT. The line-up of cocktails will keep you guessing which one to try next, while the view will still make you a little breathless.
Or, I personally would recommend Pascale Bar & Grill. It’s got everything you need post-race and will leave you feeling content in the belly no matter what the horses got up to.
When all is said and done, you’d be a fool not have booked a night with QT Melbourne, making the walk home just an elevator ride away.
