Handy by foot this ‘little Italy on the beach’ is situated on Hall Street and is the surfy sister restaurant of the famous Darlinghurst location by the same name.
Famous for fresh traditional pastas and comfort foods A Tavola is a favoured spot for families and gatherings.
Inspirations for the food and menus come from the childhood reminiscing of head chef and owner Eugenio Maiale. As a child Eugenio loved the beckoning chime of ‘A Tavola’, meaning ‘to the table’ and that dinner was ready.
Famous reviewer Pat Norse lovingly noted “walk past A Tavola in the afternoon and you’ll see boxes of produce and acres of different pasta shapes strewn over the long marble communal table that runs down to the kitchen”.
A Tavola is definitely worth a look.
